The setting of the lodge in beautiful Donegal was perfect, with the beach handy for photos. The New Zealander’s and Australians were blown away with the scenery. We really appreciated the freedom to put our own personal stamp on the day. We would definitely recommend the Lodge as a wedding venue

We couldn't have asked for any more from the hotel from the setting up of the room to the service from all the staff. We had a lot of compliments from all our guests about how good the food was. It was really first class! With the weather being so good we couldn't have asked for a better location.

We wish to thank you most sincerely for the wonderful service we received on the occasion of our daughter,Claire's wedding on Friday 3rd June 2011.It was perfect from beginning to end.Claire and Chris fell in love with the hotel on their first visit last year and no wonder.The ambiance, the friendly efficient staff, the setting, the wonderful tasteful decor and of course the food all add up to make a super hotel.We felt as if we were hosting the reception in our own home we were so at ease.
On their wedding day itself the service couldn't have been finer,we were made to feel so welcome and everything ran so smoothly.Guests commented all day and in letters and cards after the wedding on how wonderful the hotel was, commenting also on how courteous the staff were.The wedding meal was just perfect as was the delicious breakfast next morning.My husband and I had a most beautiful bedroom with excellent facilities.
We are still really on cloud nine and look forward to our next visit to Ballyliffin Lodge Hotel.

Thanks for all your help and patience Siobhan, we had a fantastic day. We have received nothing but praise for the hotel and food. Everyone was impressed with the choice available and the seabass was particularly popular. Half of our guests had not been to that part of Donegal before and they were all very taken with the scenery. Most of steven's relatives are saying its the best wedding they've been at. His cousins had some American guests over the following week and brought them to Ballyliffen they were so impressed. My Dublin friends booked in for another night they liked it so much and my London friends are planning to return for NYE. The wedding went better than expected and the staff at the Ballyiffen were very professional and courteous.

The Best Wedding Ever! My sister had her wedding reception at the Ballyliffin lodge over the Easter. The hotel venue is outstanding and the views from the drawing room are to die for. When we arrived to the hotel the hotel management greeted us at the door and directed all guests to the pre reception room. The function room decor is so plush and the food was fantastic. This hotel would have to be rated the best venue in the Donegal.

We held our wedding here early July and have to say Breda, Colin and the whole team did a fab job. From start to finish things ran like clockwork, the food and service were outstanding. There's nothing I'd change about reception here at all.
The hotel is small, just 40 rooms and if there is a wedding here that you're not attending it will impact on your stay. That said if you can stay here out of season or during the week it's a lovely place to stay though a bit pricey. Pay that bit extra for a sea view.
Be warned though if you're staying here during warm weather there isn't any air conditioning and the rooms are warm.
The surrounding countryside is spectacular, wonderful beaches and nearby golf all make this hotel a lovely place to stay
